A unique building deserves special interior design, and Elle Decor recently featured the first home by David Alhadeff and his firm, the Future Perfect, at 100 Franklin. This collection of full-floor Tribeca condos is housed in a Flatiron-shaped brick building that architecture firm DDG designed with an eye toward placing a modern shape in a classic neighborhood. Inside the furnished home, which Alhadeff refers to as a “jewel box,” a beautiful mobile by artist Karl Zahn draws the eye to the inside of the wedge, which looks out over the intersection at Franklin and Church Streets, while Calico curtains and a neutral color palette complement the home’s oversized windows.

When the scaffolding came down from one half of 100 Franklin’s brand-new facade, PROFILEnyc was there to capture exciting images of the contextual red brick. Using handcrafted materials from famed Danish brickwork firm Petersen Tegl, DDG designed a facade that is both historic and modern, complete with classically inspired detailing and oversized windows that flood the full-floor Tribeca condos with natural light. The project itself is made up of two triangular buildings set against one another in a narrow lot, which DDG celebrated as an exercise in fitting spacious homes in a small footprint. When complete, 100 Franklin will be home to 10 full-floor luxury Tribeca homes for sale by Douglas Elliman.

Tribeca Citizen was on hand when the scaffolding came down off the first completed sections of the red brick facade at 100 Franklin, giving the paper a first look at the contextual, historic brickwork design by DDG. The architects used bricks by Danish brickworks company Petersen Tegl in classic patterns, including leaving gaps between some of the bricks, in order to give the angular buildings at 100 Franklin a sense of continuity with the historic surroundings.
